At Hawkwood, we offer a variety of activities, ranging from strenuous athletics to leisurely walks to experiencing the artisan food movement
To challenge your body and spirit
Yoga guided by a profession yogi, enhanced by the mind-relaxing serene surroundings. Or if you want to experience the beauty around you, you can practice poses on the trails.
Road biking is there for you outside our gate; we are one of the most beautiful—and challenging— country roads in Northern California. You can leave a meeting, jump on bikes and venture forth on a long or short ride to the Marshall Grade, Stubbs Vineyard Hill, the Marshall Store, or the new Stafford Lake Bike Park where you can further test you skills. Chileno Valley Road is considered one of the bike riding roads in the US and showcases the best of Sonoma County country landscapes.
Mountain biking is available right on the Hawkwood property: with five or so (we are always finding new paths) miles of single track trails, the mountain biking at Hawkwood encourages challenging and intense exercise or an easy peddle while overlooking serene Northern California hills
Hiking, running, training or racing: the multipurpose mountain biking trails are multipurpose; their varied terrain is also perfect for a relaxing personal run, fitness training, high intensity group races or a nature hike.
Nature walks: We can organize walks and lectures on Sonoma County wildlife and plants with an expert to teach you about the numerous native plants and trees, and the birds and the resident wildlife of the region. Hawkwood with its pond and deep barrancas provides shelter for a wide variety of creatures.
To challenge your palate and mind:
Northern California, and especially Sonoma County, is the heart of the artisan food revolution. Emphasizing fresh organic produce, hand-crafted breads, locally produced specialty cheeses— goat, sheep, cow—from local herds. The ambient, Mediterranean climate of this area is ideal for olive oil. We can arrange olive oil and cheese tastings (accompanied of course with artisan bread from Sonoma County bakers) with local producers. And this does even mention the queen of Sonoma County, our wines. We arrange wine tastings of our marvelous local wines (including Napa wines) with experts to guide us.
Just for fun
We can arrange for Treasure Hunts…a truly challenging setting for a Mystery Party or Treasure Hunt.
Bocce ball: With multiple lawns, you can toss about a bocce ball. A regulation bocce ball court will be under construction soon.
Horse shoes: Challenge your hand-eye coordination as well as your inner child with a game of horseshoes.
And since Hawkwood is a working horse farm, we can offer exhibitions of dressage, show-jumping, even the excitement of cross-country. Watch one of our professional trainers give you a mini-tutorial or audit a lesson.
We can host from 10 to 200 people. For more information on planning and pricing, call Nicki at 707-478-5278 or e-mail email@example.com
